Another mouthguard push from your resident dentite :) The research shows that a custom fitted, laminated mouth guard offers the best protection while also being the most comfortable. Think you dont need one because theres no striking in BJJ? Then remember the last time you rolled a spazzy white belt, (like me), who accidentally elbowed you in the face, or smashed your lower jaw into your upper teeth. A mouth guard is s very cheap insurance policy against potentially expensive dental fix-ups. Crack a back tooth which then needs root canal therapy and a crown? $3k. Get a front tooth knocked right out and need an implant? $6k please :/ To make things easier, Im offering to take your impression for you if you order a Playsafe kit and bring it to the club. The Lite Pro model is most suitable for BJJ. I have no affiliation with them, they just make good mouth guards. Im at the club every Saturday morning, most Tuesdays/Thursdays for day classes, and Tuesdays 4pm for Tiny Tigers. Bring your kit and grab me!
