Another new member, (Thanks Carol). Joined 5KA in circa 1979 as 17 year old Cart Boy in the time of the management of Neville Bradley, Mike Wass and Brent Gracie, if memory serves me rightly. To remember who was on air on which shift is impossible, as there were so many reshuffles, firings, resignations, and skullduggery. Loved working with Greg Rees, Fingers, David Day (who taught me how to wind carts whilst drinking from a Southwark longneck), Pembo, Bazz & Pilko, Ray Gretch, Glenn Gale, Humpy, and Judie Ford (? Late-Nights). As I moved into other media jobs including television in NSW & Queensland I utilised the lessons I learnt from David Wightman. Enough said but lets say I had a great time. Reading the posts it seems that no one has any fond memories for 12K, Todd & Bill, Stan, Wass etc etc. Well neither do I, mainly because I would not be told of a format change until about midday the day before. Mike Wass would walk into the Cart Room with a pile of records and announce New format from tomorrow, cart these tracks stupid. And anyone who worked at, or listened to, 5KA in those days, do you still cringe when you hear last hours most requested song - Billy Joels It still Rock and Roll to Me? Hourly rotation for 3 weeks.
