Another sultry day with summertime heat and humidity, but absent - TopicsExpress

Another sultry day with summertime heat and humidity, but absent were the showers/t-storms we had yesterday. Too much dry air in the mid/upper levels of the atmosphere limited clouds from building and showers from moving in. However, our weather will turn very unsettled for Wednesday and Thursday. A big trough of low pressure in the upper levels will develop a strong surface low and cold front that will sweep through the southeast. This will be the focus for heavy rain and thunderstorms from Wednesday afternoon through the evening and into Thursday morning. The severe weather threat is minimal, with most of the dynamics in the atmosphere (especially strong shear) will be lacking. However, there is still a chance to see a marginally severe storm or two. The heavy rain potential will be the most urgent threat, with 1-2 possible through Thursday morning. However, higher amounts could occur if thunderstorms begin to develop a little earlier on Wednesday. This is another round of bad news for farmers that have had a tough time getting this seasons crop in the ground. After Thursday, drier and cooler weather settles in thru the weekend. Thursday will be a cool day after the rain moves out by the early afternoon, with highs only in the mid 70s. Friday temps will be cooler too, with lows in the 50s and highs in the upper 70s! The weekend looks dry with a slight warm up for both Saturday and Sunday, but it looks like highs and lows stay just below average.
