Apparently, the latest faux political controversy has the Washington Free Beacon exposing Libertarian Girl, who has done social media work for Rand Pauls superPAC, for holding such outlandish views as: >Noting that the Pledge of Allegiance was created by a socialist >Believing Snowden is worthy of a Nobel, and Obama is not >Raging against those in the GOP who warmonger over Iran >Using an expletive to denounce Sens. McCain and Graham >Criticizing McCains alleged blood lust for having insisted thered be hell to pay if the airliner downed over Ukraine was fault of Russia or separatists it backed >Claiming the US acts like a bully in the world, and that it explains why Putin refused to extradite Snowden >Promoting a group which raises awareness about Israeli occupation of the West Bank and alleged abuses >Insisting that those who wish to support Israel should do so of their own volition >Citing a report that discusses US drone strikes as war crimes I dont know about you, but I dont really see much that is outlandish here. Whats actually preposterous is the manner in which Free Beacon writers like Alana Goodman and those above her are content to assassinate someones character merely by exposing their past statements, implying that they reflect fringe and unacceptable ideas without even attempting to persuade anyone that these views are actually so. Maybe some WFB readers are oblivious, but these views actually are not fringe, but are widely held and uncontroversial to many. Have a few reservations if you will, but I personally find it more strange that someone would disagree with or take offense at most of the above, rather than the opposite.
