Appeal following Husthwaite shed burglaries We are appealing for information after two burglaries in the village of Husthwaite near Thirsk. Overnight on Saturday 31 May 2014, into the morning of Sunday 1 June, the suspects have forced entry to a garage and a garden shed at two neighbouring properties in the village. Northing was taken from either properties and officers believe that they thieves were possibly after bicycles. It is believed the suspects have entered the rear gardens of the properties via Elphin Bridge Lane. Police are appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the village on Saturday night or Sunday morning, to contact them. The are also urging cyclists to be extra vigilant when it comes to cycle security and ensure you take as many theft precautions as possible. Anyone who has any information about the burglaries is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for PC Robert Spalding.
