Archbishop Desmond Tutu has made the call at the following URL: haaretz/mobile/1.610687?v=66691173328C172D77ED27A198582751. I have the following points to make in response to Desmond Tutu’s message/call: (1.) Even though I have tremendous admiration for Desmond Tutu, I nonetheless respectfully disagree with him when, in particular, he (A) Opines that the State of Israel illegally occupies certain territories and (B) Calls for boycott of, divestment from and sanctions on the Israeli economy; indeed, rather than the State of Israel acting illegally, with respect to the question/issue of the ownership of its territories, it is the following developments that are illegal: (i.) The naming of the territory, which became so named by the Roman Empire, as Philistine (a.k.a. Palestine) is illegal. (ii.) The designation of some modern-day Arab peoples as “Philistines” is illegal. (2.) I refuse to become what I construe as a “useful idiot” to either “Philistine” Arabs or those who advocate for the establishment and perpetuation of the illegal State of Philistia (by “useful idiot,” I mean one who ignorantly and sincerely wrongly supports a wrong, unjust cause). (3.) I have no l plans of joining any Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movements; I would, instead, support the growth and development of the Jewish State of Israel, in all ways, including economically, culturally, spiritually, militarily/security-wise, etc. (4.) Those who advocate for the creation as well as the definition of the boundaries of a State of Philistia NEED to answer the following question: Should the boundaries of this State of Philistia be the boundaries of a Philistine State, which “Philistine” and other Arabs rejected in 1947 or should these boundaries be those of the Philistine State that Arabs tried to create after, as they hoped/dreamed, they had defeated and destroyed the State of Israel in the 1967 6-day war – a war, which multiple Arab States started against the State of Israel? What, EXACTLY, is the State that EVERYONE is activising and demanding for on the behalf of “Philistine” Arabs – after all, if an activist were to fight for or advance a cause, such an activist ought to know, EXACTLY, what it is that they are fighting for? (5.) Why does the world (including Desmond Tutu) seem to love “Philistine” Arabs more than they love other peoples who are suffering from the destruction, killing and maiming of warfare, especially Muslims who are suffering from these atrocities at the hands of other Muslims, e.g., the Syrians who have been suffering from the civil war that has been raging in Syria and the countless others who are suffering at the hands of militants of the group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS)? Unlike the way in which a good, responsible parent handles tantrums thrown/performed by their baby, the world posits that, even though Arabs (including “Philistine” Arabs) (A) Pontifically/arrogantly, selfishly, carelessly, ill-advisedly and unfortunately rejected the “Philistine” State that they were offered in 1947 (B) Continue to reject the LEGAL establishment of the Jewish State of Israel and (C) Start wars against Jews to accomplish one objective or the other, these Arabs ought to be granted their every fanciful, idealistic whims, desires and demands; why does the world continue to shamelessly and even abusively – i.e., abusively, against the interests of “Philistine” Arabs – condone and indulge “Philistine” Arabs like this? Why should “Philistine” Arabs stand out, amongst other peoples on our planet, who are clearly favored, condoned and indulged like this – what is so special about these Arabs? (6.) By advancing the reprehensibly misleading argument that the way Jews treat “Philistine” Arabs is analogous to the murderous, ruthless and unfortunate Apartheid in South Africa, Desmond Tutu actually dilutes, belittles and mocks/ridicules the history and memory of the Blacks who suffered under the brutal, repressive, oppressive and racist Apartheid regime; this is because, in the State of Israel, the following do not exist, BASED EXCLUSIVELY ON RACIAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN JEWS AND ARABS: Arab vs. Jewish seats, public places, areas, schools; furthermore, Arabs serve in (amongst other professions and jobs/careers) the Israeli armed and security forces as well as the executive, judicial and legislative arms of the Israeli government and, in short, the doctrine and practice that Jews are superior to Arabs and should, therefore, be segregated from Arabs is not a provision in the constitution of the State of Israel – it is simply not true that Jewish racial superiority over Arabs, and the consequent segregation of Jews and Arabs, is an official position of the Israeli government, which is codified into Israeli Law. (If the foregoing do not clearly establish a categorical difference between the regime in the State of Israel and the defunct Apartheid regime in South Africa then I do not know what does!) I have discussed the subject of the comparison of the State of Israel with the defunct Apartheid South Africa in the following blog: iawpropaganda.blogspot/. (7.) The world does a disservice to “Philistine” Arabs by refusing to ACKNOWLEDGE that a significant proportion of the suffering, which “Philistine” Arabs undergo is due to Arabs starting one war or another against Jews.
