Are you a resident of Dubuque? The City of Dubuque needs your help! The City is partnering with IBM research to find ways to better serve the community in trash/recycling pick up and management in a short term pilot study called Smarter Discards. How does it work: The weekly trash collected will weigh what you put out on the curb including trash, recycling, yard scraps each week in an anonymous form. The only requirements for participation are that you reside within Dubuque city limits, and that you have curbside pickup through the City. Is the process anonymous? Yes, it is 100% anonymous. What’s in it for me? You will be given access to a portal that will provide information on your household discard patterns, visualization of data over a period of time, given information on available incentives and you will be helping play a part in making Dubuque a more sustainable community!
