Are you familiar with all three planes of human movement? These are the frontal, sagital, and transverse planes. Most of what happens in a gym setting uses your frontal and sagital planes. Squat, lunge, bench press, side raise. Its all linear movement. However, most of what we do in the real world uses your transverse (rotational) plane. Running, twisting, chopping, leaning, swimming, batting, etc. If you dont add some transverse movements to your workouts you wont move as an efficient human being. Watch the video as trainer Ellen demonstrates some of her favorite transverse movements, and then her clients Laura and Emi work on them. Please note that these are very advanced movements.
