Are you in the Netherlands? If so, please join us in The Hague on the morning of 28 May for a panel discussion on the crisis in Ukraine, co-organised with the The Hague Institute for Global Justice. Registration is required via the event announcement: bit.ly/1g8IEvX The Crisis in the Ukraine – Challenges and Opportunities for Dialogue and Mediation As the crisis in the Ukraine escalates, the conflict is becoming increasingly complex and violent. What remains clear though is that dialogue and mediation are indispensable for a long-term, sustainable solution. While attention is focused on geopolitical interests and the international –led negotiations, this panel discussion will provide unique insights into the ongoing strategies for conflict prevention through local dialogue initiatives. It will bring together leading peacebuilders from Nonviolence International and GPPAC, who have been working extensively in Ukraine in recent months, and experts in conflict prevention and diplomacy from The Hague Institute for Global Justice, to reflect on the challenges and opportunities for dialogue and mediation as a way out of the current crisis. Remarks Nikola Dimitrov, Distinguished Fellow, The Hague Institute for Global Justice Panel - Dr Iryna Brunova-Kalisetska, Research Fellow, Institute of Social and Political Psychology in Kyiv, Ukraine and GPPAC Ukraine member - Dr David Connolly, Head of the Conflict Prevention Program, The Hague Institute for Global Justice - Andre Kamenshikov, Director of Nonviolence International’s programs in Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States and GPPAC Regional Representative for Eastern Europe - Zahid Movlazadeh, Action Learning Programme Manager and Regional Coordinator for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia, GPPAC Global Secretariat Moderator Marte Hellema, Programme Manager Public Outreach, GPPAC Global Secretariat
