Arriva Trains Wales rail conductors hold 24-hour strike Conductors on Arriva Trains Wales (ATW) rail services in north Wales are expected to take strike action from 12:00 BST. The 24-hour stoppage by the RMT union is over two conductors with nearly 900 days sickness absence being sacked. Replacement buses will be used on some routes and the company hopes to minimise disruption at peak times. Services affected are expected to include the north Wales coast and Cardiff to Holyhead trains. Lynne Milligan, customer services director at Arriva Trains Wales said: We are disappointed that the RMT have called to take industrial action and we regret that the situation has not been resolved. She added: We are hoping to have all trains ready to resume services as normal as soon as the strike action is over at midday on Saturday. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
