As Salaamun Alaikum Sisters and Brothers, The Women in the - TopicsExpress

As Salaamun Alaikum Sisters and Brothers, The Women in the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad were also a part of the Plan of Allah. They were not just there for having children and house cleaning as many learned individuals would have us to believe. Our wives are not “Maids”…they are our “Mates”…they are not our “Property” they are our “Partners”. Allah sealed the history of how the wives of the Prophet would be an example forever for us to follow in our dealings with the community and our families. Allah kept the system pure and untainted from false perceptions outside of the Ummah. It was this ayah (Quran 33:52) that opened my eyes to the wisdom of Allah by announcing that the ideology of family and community was complete. All we need to know and learn about how to be a family and community is within the knowledge of the Seerah of the Wives of Prophet Muhammad. They were not women who were tied to their homes. They visited the masjid, traveled, conducted business, freed slaves, performed Sadaqah, taught the people, participated in battles, and advised the Prophet . MAYMUNA bint al-Harith PART 3 After the Prophets death, (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) Maymuna continued to live in Medina for another forty years, dying at the age of eighty, in 51 AH, (may Allah be pleased with her), being the last but one of the Prophets wives to die. She asked to be buried where had married the Prophet at Saraf and her request was carried out. It is related that at the funeral of Maymuna, Ibn Abbas said, This is the wife of Allahs Messenger, (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) so when you lift her bier, do not shake her or disturb her, but be gentle. It is commonly agreed that it was after the Prophet had married Maymuna, giving him now nine wives (Aisha, Sawda, Hafsa, Umm Salama, Zainab bint Jahsh, Juwayriyya, Umm Habiba, Safiyya and Maymuna), that the following ayat was revealed: It is not lawful for you (O Muhammad, to marry more) women after this, nor to exchange them for other wives, even though their beauty is pleasing to you, except those whom your right hand possesses (as maid servants); and Allah is always watching over everything.
