As Salaamun Alaikum Sisters and Brothers, The Women in the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad were also a part of the Plan of Allah. They were not just there for having children and house cleaning as many learned individuals would have us to believe. Our wives are not “Maids”…they are our “Mates”…they are not our “Property” they are our “Partners”. I would like to bring your attention to the history of the first woman we discussed in this dialogue: Who also was a woman who was given as a gift to someone from a Coptic King in Egypt? Who was the woman who discovered with the help of Jibrael, the well called Zam Zam? Who was the mother of Ishmael? Who was the first owner of the water rights of Zam Zam? Who was the father of Ishmael? What was the name of the sone of Maria and Prophet Muhammad? Allah is Merciful and All Wise! Allah has brought back the same issue between Sarah and Haggar that Maria and the historians have? Yet, He has brought back also the same blessing for the one who is not on equal footing as a wife to some. Allah has given her a status of Mother of the son of the Messenger of Allah! My final question is this? Do you think Maria was of African descent as was Haggar? Could this be a reason why there is not much history on her? This story is getting interesting and I am begging everyone to be patient and open-minded. We must learn for ourselves what Allah’s truth is…. from what someone else’s truth is. She spent three years of her life with the Prophet, until his death, and died five years later in 16 AH, (may Allah be pleased with her) For the last five years of her life, she remained a recluse and almost never went out except to visit the grave of the Prophet or her sons grave.
