As a member of the House Budget Committee, James Lankford has given his full support to the Ryan Plan, which is a set of proposed fiscal reforms for balancing the federal budget. The Ryan plan clearly protects the special tax breaks for the super-wealthy and seeks to increase revenue from the working class by broadening the base. So what does broadening the base mean? When questioned, Representative Ryan said that they were going to close some of the loopholes. I have read all published versions of the Ryan Plan and I have not found one loophole which would be closed! The Plan reduced corporate taxes to 25% (from 35%), makes the Bush tax cuts permanent for the wealthiest individuals, exempts corporations from declaring foreign profits from their taxable income and doesnt even mention cutting subsidies to any of the multi-national corporations. You dont have to be a mathematician to see that any revenue increases needed to run the government must come from the working class taxpayers! The Ryan Plan does not state anything in writing because everyone would be up in arms about it. When he is asked about details, he says that It is not the job of the Budget Committee to work out the details!!! Well, I watch C-SPAN a lot and Id like to share a few of the details which were kicked around on the floor of the House during these past two years: 1. Reduction of the earned-income credit 2. Reduction or elimination of the child-care credit 3. Reduction in the amount of mortgage interest allowed as a deduction 4. Elimination of the health insurance premium deduction So, if you are a working American, your tax rate will not change, but you will paying a lot more in taxes because YOUR DEDUCTIONS WILL BE REDUCED if the Republicans take over the government! Now, do you REALLY want a disciple of Paul Ryan to represent us in the Senate??? VOTE BLUE! Vote for Connie Johnson for US Senate on November 4! We have a chance of winning this, so dont sit this one out. PLEASE!
