As an athlete that has reached the top of the world for my country and myself.. I didnt get what I deserve or what I sacrificed. But thats ok.. I did my best. I won gold medals for my country and myself. Had my dad pushing me every step of the way.. My idol in sport was Keith Turner, he is the best sprinter our sport has ever seen. Inline speed skating. Capable of winning multiple gold medals at the winter Olympic Games in long track speed skating. Theres a lot of politics involved in every single sport.. there are many athletes that have not received the exposure or recognition that they deserve and thats ok. Its all about what agent you have or if you stay consistent or not based on your life struggles.. Many people that see this will have an opinion about it.. But truth is.. There are many athletes that will never make podium for many reasons, not because they cant, but because of real life struggles & politics or injuries. At the end of the day it is what it is... But take it for what its worth. I respect all the athletes out there that dedicate their lives to a sport and are not famous. Its not about that... Its about doing what you love. Achieving your goals and living your life based on who you really are. Not who people want you to be. Anyone can put on a fake smile and pretend to be someone for a buck.... Just real talk from HV.
