As much as I love Beyoncé, Janet Jackson holds a special place in my heart. This article was impressive to read, Mrs. Jackson does not get the credit that she deserves. She did pave the road that Beyoncé now drives on. More importantly in comparison Madonna, Janet has done just as much if not more to deserve recognition. I did now that Janets rise in fame coincided with the rise of Black Feminism, until 1980s Black Feminism was ignored by the mainstream thought process of the feminist movement. It has been amazing journey for Mrs. Jackson, and for the millions of black women that grow up with her- black people in general. She along with Prince, Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston expanded and showed that black artistry and voice could be heard in a meaningful way and change popular culture. Happy 25th BDay to Rhythm Nation 1814. A album that I still bump till this day. I love me some Janet Jackson. Very few people can rock a stage like she does. Even my shero Mrs. Knowles-Carter must give credit were credit is due. One Love, One Mic!
