As my dear old Mum would have told me.....dry your tears and carry on!Although I cannot really believe that the dear old Carlton is soon to be ripped limb from limb, my memories are untouchable. All those dedicated people who have kept things running in the background without ever stepping on stage, taking a bow or even that much in the way of thanks...we salute you! Roger Smith....for your tireless leadership and unending focus...another salute TPs have saved the council an untold amount of money during its stewardship of the building over the past 30 years. So- its onwards and upwards to the Ice Factory. Eleven years ago a small group of us worked hard to get that building from TDC for use as a community arts centre. It served in part for a while with jazz club and exhibitions but the major use was by the Youth Service. Now the idea is set to become reality and the Teignmouth Players will re-invent themselves as a group and embrace new challenges. Who knows- this could rekindle some of the old pioneering spirit many of us enjoyed in the early days back in the 1960s. Joe Public.....one and all......here is a chance to get involved with something new and innovative so please watch what is happening at the Ice Factory over the next few months and support TPs with Educating Rita in the URC and the Pantomime in TCS. Good Luck One & All
