As my journey into ‘showbiz ‘ land continues, I lean something - TopicsExpress

As my journey into ‘showbiz ‘ land continues, I lean something new every day. After reading ‘The Stage’ review…. They thought the Panto and everyone in it was great and gave it 4 stars which is indeed very high praise from ‘The Stage’ although they said in the first half I was a bit hesitant, in fairness they were right, it was my first day, and I was slightly nervous incase I forgot my lines and I’m not used to being on stage in front of over 1000 people, TV is very different, even the live guest appearances I’ve done which were watched by millions, don’t prepare you for that many people actually sat in front of you when you walk out on to a stage. The last time I even saw a script was in a School play when I was 14 !! Then a really great review in Exeter’s local paper… which includes some very kind words for my performance. Then today Torquay’s local paper review was published which gave the Panto a glowing report and praised everyone and also gave it 4 stars, which is marvellous ! Now I know the King isn’t a big part, and after the slightly mixed review I received from The Stage I wasn’t sure what to expect……. especially this being Torquay, and the fact the local paper had given quite a lot of coverage to me being cast in the Panto including a full page interview etc, so I was slightly surprised not to even get a mention… I can only assume one of 3 things…. either I did such a convincing job of playing the King… that they didn’t realise it was me and assumed it was the real King of ‘Happyland’ so didn’t bother to mention it. The reviewer decided on the old adage that if you haven’t got something nice to say, say nothing at all !! Or my performance just wasn’t even worthy of a mention ! Either way what I’ve leant is there is something worse than a bad review… and that’s no bloody review at all !! :-) But the good news is ALL the reviews say the Panto is great…. so you should ALL come and see it !! :-) :-) :-) atgtickets/shows/sleeping-beauty-2/princess-theatre-torquay/
