As some of you have mentioned already, in the new list of service - TopicsExpress

As some of you have mentioned already, in the new list of service model definitions, SM4 inclusion is not addressed at all. Was this an oversight? Since I heard that students need to be in gen ed 50%+ of the time to qualify for SM41, how does it differ from Access besides the ratio? Reading between the unstated inclusion lines, it looks almost the same to me, just worded differently... (?) Can anyone clarify for me? Thanks. SM4 K - 12 8:1:2 Students need support and SDI throughout the day, including substantial support in organizational, social and/or adaptive areas to access information across settings. Some students may access general education curriculum and setting with substantial accommodation and modification. For some students an alternative setting with 1:1 or 1:2 instructional setting, more structure and leveled or modified curriculum focused on individual needs in academic, communication, social skills, motor development, adaptive/life skills and self-help is necessary to meet needs. Students participate in the general education setting and activities as determined by IEP. Access K- 5 10:1:3 Access learning provides students with intensive special education needs who benefit from spending the majority of their instructional time in the general education setting with a full range of supports. Students may need support and SDI in one or more academic areas and/or SDI in social, behavior, or adaptive skills. SDI may be delivered in general education and small group settings. Students may qualify in any one of the 13 federally mandated categories or disabilities. Students participate in general education curriculum and activities as determined by their individual IEP. __._,_.___ Reply via web post Reply to sender Reply to group Start a New Topic Messages in this topic (10) In compliance with our 501(c)(3) status, the Seattle Special Education PTSA does not support or endorse candidates for political office.
