As some of you know, Jessicas 24th bday is next week, December 23rd. She is continuing to make small progress each day but will not be home yet. She still has many, many months to go, possibly years. I still cant believe its been 4 months or 121 days today that our world turned upside down. The memories never get easy and I always tear up grateful that she IS still with us. Each day with her is a precious one. Every time I see her I try to remember every single detail. How her hair is growing out, what she talked about, how she looks at me. Shes finally put on some weight and her balance has gotten so much better. She loves the outings they do going to church, look at Christmas lights and nativity scene. She talks about driving a lot. Not her, just in general. Going anywhere. It still tugs at my heart that she wont celebrate her birthday or Christmas in the way we would like but I know this isnt about me, its her recovery. So to help celebrate, we would appreciate, if on that day, wherever you are with your families and loved ones, if you would post and tag me in your Prayers For Jessica tshirts and change your profile pic for just the day. I would like to make a collage for her. Your continued prayers for her still amaze us all and are heart felt. Every person I see asks about her. One day she will see all of this and know how much her life has impacted others. What a difference she has made in her 23 years so far. One foot in front of the other... One step at a time...
