As the Thanksgiving holiday and subsequent festive weekend - TopicsExpress

As the Thanksgiving holiday and subsequent festive weekend celebrated with family comes to an end I now have the time to reflect on my own personal thanksgivings and the appreciation I have for my family. First and foremost I am thankful for a devoted wife who loves me unconditionally. Despite my frequent crabbiness (especially when my Keurig quicks working in the morning) she puts up with all of my bs. She prepared an excellent Thanksgiving dinner and made sure everyone was well fed and pampered but most of all she always smiled and tactfully pulled my coattails during my most crabby moments. Shes the only one capable of doing that. For that Im thankful. My son.........what can I say? Hes not my mini-me (as many imply) but he is definitely an extension of me. Knowing that I have not been physically capable of doing the things that I normally do hes has been willing to step into the breach in my stead. I must also give credit to his wife Alyssa who has tolerated my frequent audibles for her honeydews for him. Despite my frequent requests she readily smiles, looks after Phillip and never complains. For that Im thankful. My grandson......again, what can I say. He is my joy and reason for living. That little boy brightens my day when ever Im around him despite his being as cranky as I am at times. Its hard to believe that Phillip will be one year old on the 9th. For him Im thankful. Im especially thankful for my sister-in-law, Neomi Glass who remains my connection with by late brother Phillip and travelled here from El Paso, Texas to share our Thanksgiving holiday. Her kind heart, infectious laugh and beautiful personality reminded me of why I adore her so. Im thankful for my sister-in-law Rachel and her husband Chris who chose to drive five hours to be with us for Thanksgiving. Im especially thankful for her willingness to jump in and take care of the majority of the dishes (even if she did do it in shifts) LOL! Just kidding Rachel. Im thankful that my brother-in-law Jon Lyon who has finally found his soul mate in Irma and looks happier than Ive ever seen him in my 20 years of knowing him. Irma is a wonderful woman and a welcomed addition to this family. Last but not least I am thankful for my in-laws Harvey and Lynn Lyon who are always there for the holidays that matter (including my birthday 😉), my nephew Jeremy , my sister Barbara , my brother Karl Glass who is usually my sounding board and his son (my nephew) Karl Glass (Brian). I thank you all for a wonderful Thanksgiving!
