As we near the end of Memorial Day, let us not forget to continually thank our Veterans day in and day out for preserving the freedoms we enjoy!! On this day in addition to our Vets, I want to personally thank again a group of men and women who two weeks ago tonight unselfishly fought in a terrible lightning storm to save our house from total destruction! When we built our house we thought we had made it fireproof but we forgot about lightning! The verdict is in from the cause and origin folks and it has been determined that out house experienced a substantial strike with the possibility of more than one!!! I know tonight had it not been for the sacrifice of our voluntary firemen our house would have burned to the ground. Brian Herrington and his crew came quickly along with several other fire departments and they did not leave until the fire was under control! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! So when you hear the sirens blaring and you see the trucks running just know that we are safer and more secure because we have men and women who volunteer their time unselfishly!!!
