As we prepare for the first gathering of The Playground this Sunday (1/25 @ 530), I found this article (click below). Obviously the article is discussing a physical playground and the equipment we typically think of, but there are a lot of parallels to be drawn for what we believe is on Gods heart not only for this group, but for many in the family of God.... Playground - a place to learn and develop in the areas of: - Communication - Sharing - Collaboration - Empathy (some of us just heard about that one this week!) - Imagination - Creativity - Thinking and Problem Solving (Assessing and accepting risk, tackling challenges, persistence, perseverance (hmmm, sounds all spiritual all of a sudden wink emoticon ) - Sense of Identity (improved confidence in who we are in Him and what Hes given us) - Sense of Connection (To other kids on the playground (i,e, community) - Exploration Yep - thats about the size of it. smile emoticon
