As you will all know by now, the Denver Broncos and their high-octane attack (Britton Colquitt has punted just once in the playoffs) will take on the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 48 (no Roman numerals for me, I’m sorry) in New York. And for the sake of clarity and ease over the next fortnight, can we just agree to call it a New York Super Bowl? I know, I know – the game is technically being played in New Jersey, but I think the eyes of the football world will be on the Big Apple for much of game week and New York will be referenced time and again. Some might call it lazy but I prefer to consider it a more effective use of my time ahead of the season finale. Imagine how much time I will save typing ‘New York’ every time I might have been forced into writing ‘New York/New Jersey!’ Super Bowl 48 will offer up your classic offense versus defense match-up. The Seahawks rank first in total defense, scoring defense, passing defense, turnovers and red zone defense.
