Upon successful completion of the program you will become a full-fledged consultant on the professional services team, responsible for implementing challenging solutions for our clients throughout the US. This position is responsible for Cisco Unified Communications technology. This opportunity is available with a September 9, 2013 start date. The Associate Engineer Role To build your skills and ensure your success, CDW’s ACE Training Program offers these key experiences: • Work with Experts on Real Projects CDW has industry thought leaders and consultants who have years of experience, you will have the opportunity to shadow and work side-by-side with them on real customer projects. Those projects will include experiencing customer meetings, reviewing design documents, configuring and testing hardware to meet the client’s environment and business needs. Your mentors will take you under their wings to show you the ropes, challenge your skills, and build you into a high performing consultant. • Build Technical & Consulting Excellence Recognizing that becoming a CDW Engineer requires holistic knowledge of the customer and the technology, we will build your consulting skills (like project management, leadership, and communication skills), technical skills, and skills in CDW’s Engagement Methodology, a best practice approach to ensuring customer project success. The ACE Program does this by building your skills at the right time and through the right medium. We have combined individual study, team study, and certification attainment with real customer projects. This approach allows you to learn the theory and then personally discover how that theory translates to the real world. • Acquire a Holistic Perspective Our Field Services support customers from coast-to-coast, exposing us to best practices across industries, technologies, and geographies. ACEs follow this roadmap, being assigned to a region as well as given the opportunity to work on projects nationally. CDW is a predominant Cisco solutions provider. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor degree required or an equivalent experience Experience configuring or supporting some or all of the following; switch, routers, firewalls, wireless Travel expected, varies by location, up to 50% Preferred Qualifications BA/BS including concentration in one of the following; Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline) Experience in planning, deployment and operational support of advanced technologies and applications 1-3 years network administration experience Professional experience to include customer service, requirements gathering, task execution, problem solving, sound judgment around crisis escalation.
