At 3:33 am this morning, November 15, my grandma Zelta Jean Wall, was called to the Lord. Shes the most amazing woman that I know. She grew up in Arkansas and Oklahoma during the depression and dust bowl, graduated valedictorian of her high school, graduated from college, and took a chance on a stubborn soldier from South Dakota after meeting at the 1945 Cotton Bowl while living in Dallas, TX. They later moved to South Dakota to raise their family, 10 kids, 35 grand kids, and 57 great-grand kids. Baby DesCamps will be #58. (last week Grandma was able to feel our baby kick and she smiled. It was an incredible moment that I will never forget) Granny was a great listener, she always took the time to make us smile and had the best words of wisdom. We will always have the memories of baking ginger snaps, turning the chicken coop into a play house, picking wildflowers, family reunions, singing American Pie and the endless jokes. She taught us the finer things in life - how to throw rocks when angry, youre never too old to drink moonshine, and how to get lots of beads at Mardi Gras. Granny will be missed by all that were lucky enough to know her. She is now joined in heaven with my Grandpa Francis, and her youngest daughter who was stillborn, Margaret Ann. Love you Grandma and see ya later alligator!
