At least three youth were wounded in fresh clashes between locals and government forces in South Kashmirs Kulgam district on Sunday, a day a teenage boy was shot dead by the IndianparamilitaryCentral Reserve Police Force.Groups of youth assembled at the main square in Qaimoh and clashed with the government forces who have been deployed in huge numbers after yesterdays killing. The youth were shouting anti-India and anti-Israel slogansas forces baton charged and used tear smoke shells to disperse them. Witnesses said youth restored to stone hurling and three among them received injuries.A police official said three paramilitary troopers were also hurt in the clashes.Theinjured youth were shifted to nearby medical facilities for treatment.The Syed Ali Shah-led Hurriyat Conferencehad called for a shutdown in the twin districts of Kulgam and Anantnag after Suhail Ahmad, 15, was shot dead during anti-Israel protests inKhudwani.A news report said that one of the injured youth who could not be identified was hit by a tear shell in his head.The government has clamped restrictions in both the districts to prevent the situation from snowballing.
