At the AOS #81 Board meeting last night, three significant actions were taken: (1) The Annual Public Meeting (where the AOS #81 proposed budget is voted on) will be during the first two weeks in December instead of later in spring. (2) The AOS #81 Board will be meeting monthly for most of this year. and (3) the composition of the Superintendent Search Committee will be: one (1) administrator from each district, one (1) board member from each district board, excluding those members who are representatives on, or alternates to, the AOS #81 Board, two (2) teachers from RSU #63, and one (1) teacher or parent from CSD #8. Don Spencer, principal of Eddington Elementary School, will be the administrator from RSU #63. Maynard Walton, 8th grade science teacher at Holbrook, will be one of the two teachers from RSU #63. Both have already agreed to serve. Mr. Walton will locate/identify the second teacher from RSU #63 - someone from the elementary grade level. The RSU #63 Board will designate its representative at its Board meeting next Monday. A Survey form is being developed, to be available in both districts to parents, teachers, administrators, and board members in October, enabling people to identify their priorities for Personal Characteristics/Attributes, Professional Experience & Qualifications, and Duties & Responsibilities to apply to potential applicants to the superintendent position. The next meeting of the AOS #81 Board will be Wednesday, October 8th at 6:30PM. It will be held at Holbrook School. More information later on the agenda.
