Attended an fundraiser exercise-a-thon at Cambridge Cardiac Clinic - TopicsExpress

Attended an fundraiser exercise-a-thon at Cambridge Cardiac Clinic last Saturday. The event ran from 7AM to 7PM. I was there from around three to five. Spent some time with a personal trainer, and then attended a beginner/intermediate yoga session. Anyway, for a number of months now I have been rotating aerobic stepping with free weights, wrist weights, ankle weights and exercise tubing. I was having trouble getting the proper resistance during leg abductions and hamstring curls, and the trainer suggested an exercise I could do to solve the problem. 1. Wrap exercise tubing around the thighs and tie tightly. 2. Lie on the back 3. Pull the legs up 90° to the floor 4. Make sure the feet are flat on the floor 5. Push the stomach into the air as far as it will go 6. Pull the hips as hard as possible against the exercise bands. 7. Hold as long as possible. Not being one to welch, I added ankle and wrist weights. I got it right. Glutes and hamstrings are slightly tired sore. But I gotta tell you, Im sure it would like an S&M session to the casual observer...except without the dominatrix. I could also stand with legs pulled tightly apart against the tubing. At the same time I could do lateral arm flies with the free weights. That would look more like a Roman crucifixion.
