Awesome letter from a fan! Dear Rabbit, It was great to see you again at the book signing here at The Villages. As a former caddie who started at 9 years old shagging balls on the practice range to help our family of 6 children make ends meet, I truly enjoyed your stories and had so many similar situations on the links and the caddy barn, as they called it. As with your experience it must have included pitching coins, shakesies with coins, cards and playing round the world with a jack knife. I sat right down when I returned from your book signing and read your book to the end. Many thanks for sharing your very interesting experiences and travel. I too visited Seweto about 17 years ago, meeting some very interesting people and walking down the only street in the world with two Nobel Peace Prize winners homes (Mandela and Tutu). It was quite a moving experience. It was nice to share our experiences caddying for Bob Hope and some of the old pros -Armour, Oliver, Harmon, Sarazen, etc. My experience was only for 9 holes with Bob Hope but I will never forget it. Please let me know if you have any plans to visit The Villages in the future. Maybe we can play a round of golf since my ability to carry doubles for 18 holes is over and we can share stories of our days on the links. My wife and I were just in St. Augustine and really enjoyed the old town. We will look for you on our next visit to St. Augustine. Again, my thanks for the most interesting book.
