In their works artist and activists from all over the continent speak out about injustices and social and environmental ills around their city, their country and the world. The muralismo is no longer a revolutionary art to educate the masses. It is rather part of a generalisation of a creative social protest movement. Its claim of space and creativity is the protest itself. Its symbols are part of the contemporary social struggles looking for a viable future for life on this planet.
