*BECAUSE WE WERE NOT MEANT TO BE TOGETHER* PART – 4_his memories, my life ---------------- Aanchal Singh : I woke up at an instance. I saw myself lying near the balcony. I was feeling cold. My mom was shouting my name for the third time in these 2 minutes. I got up with tears in my eyes. I had lost the habit of getting up by his phone calls. At 5 ‘o’ clock sharp, he use to dial my number and as I picked up the call he said ‘have a lovely morning my princess!’ and I use to smile and say in a sleepy voice ‘you too my prince!’ he loved my sleepy voice. Whenever I use to talk to him, he always said ‘abhi baat karne mei maza nahi aa raha… jab tum soti ho naa uske baad tumhari awaaz mast lagti hai…’ and all I could do was smile and blush! Sometimes we had unusual talks like which car is the best to buy, or which camera is much better for snapshots. He has a master mind in electronics. Though he never learnt engineering or electronics, but still, no one could ever match up his knowledge about the latest gadgets, some faults in the machines and all. Whenever I had any confusion to buy anything related to electronics, he was the one always telling me which is best to buy. ‘Aaanchaalll!! Get down shortly, uncle is about to come!’ my mom yelled at me angrily from downstairs. I escaped from my past and got up with a puppy face. I rushed towards the washroom and got ready in 35 minutes! Don’t think that I put on so much make up that it took so much time; it’s just that I was trying my best to be late on such a worst day! As soon as I was going down the stairs, I saw uncle, maa, papa sitting in the dining hall and were laughing the same way as in films where suddenly everyone starts laughing without any reason. My mom was damn upset at me; I could see it on her face. I came down with a fake smile and greeted uncle ‘Namaste uncle jii’. He smiled and blessed me by keeping his hand on my head. He was well dressed with a white safari suit and had a smile stuck up on his face as usual. ‘Bitiya toh aur sundar ho gayi hai bhabhi ji.!’ He said looking at me and everyone again started their thunderous laughs. Mr. Akhil Vakil Singh; he is the one who has fixed more than 200 of marriages in our caste and society; and unluckily all the marriages are very successful. He came to our house on an invitation by my mom to plan a meet with a guy for my marriage. Yes! This was so much bad for today that was going to happen, and so I was not wishing this day to come. Maa and papa had arranged our meet with a guy after 3 days in Lake Park. Uncle had come to our home for telling us what all they liked and which type of girl can impress them. I was not at all matching up with their needs as per uncle was telling. I was happy, because I was opposite to the girl who could match up to their family. After the lunch, uncle was ready to go. He went by giving me blessings and he hoped that this guy would agree to get married with me! I gave a fake smile and came back to my room. As soon as I got freshen up and sat on the balcony’s fence, my mom came to me with a glass of juice. I wasn’t responding to anyone from last 3 months. 3 months before I and Astitva had waved a goodbye to each other, since then, my smile had vanished. She came in my room and left the glass near me. I didn’t even cared to have a glance at the juice or at mom. I leaned on the wall and took out my cell phone from my pocket. This was my new mobile and new contacts. Astitva’s name was not saved in my new phone, but I don’t know why I did so. I already had memorized his number right from 1 year. He had a habit of changing his number very frequently, and whenever I asked him why he use to do so, he always said ‘ek hi cheez se bore ho jata hu’ and then I use to just think in my mind, “what if he gets bored of me one day??” I never asked him this question but one day unknowingly I asked him the reason to change his number, he replied the same and again I started thinking about my internal dilemma, but then he came near my ears and said ‘I won’t ever get bored of you $weetheart, I promise!’ I don’t know how, but he answered me this. I never even asked him the question, but he always read my mind. Right from class 9th, I memorized his each and every number. Total 56 number he changed, and every number was in my mind sown. His words sometimes stopped my heart beat. I loved his everything, his every way of doing anything. I still do love. But I am no more in his life to tell him such things. I am no more there to take care of him. I am no more there to give him a head massage when he has a headache. I know he misses me a lot. He knows that I am dying without him every second. But, we can’t help. I don’t know why fate has led us fall in love when we were not meant to be together. ----------- “KAHANI MEI TWIST!!” Aanchal’s marriage? Really is it going to happen? She is going to get married? But why, with whom? Why isn’t she marrying Astitva? Why they waved a goodbye to each other 3 months before. Well we’d know all this soon. But apart from that, we’ll see the most ignorant part the next time! We will see the absence of Astitva in Aanchal’s life for a period of time. For knowing everything, stay tuned! Aditi :)
