BGSBU staff donate 1 day salary for flood victims University restored all essential services on war footing: Prof Hamal September 12Rajouri: Showing solidarity with the people of the State, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah Rajouri has come forward to help in the relief operations and all the employees have donated their one day salary towards the CM Relief fund. The students of the University have also volunteered to collect donations. Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University fraternity has shown sympathy with the affected people and all the staff members have donated one day salary for Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund. Not only the officials, students of this University also collected funds among each other for the CM Flood Relief Fund for providing relief to the affected population and to augment the efforts of the Government for providing prompt relief. Vice Chancellor Prof Irshad Ahmed Hamal said that that in this tough time, University fraternity stood with affected people of the State. It is pertinent to mention here that there are hundreds of students from Kashmir Valley who are enrolled in BGSBU’s various courses and are residing in the Hostels. Although some of them have not been able to contact with family members and rae under stress , but they are busy with their studies. About problems faced by the University in flood situations, Vice Chancellor said that University was also affected in the recent situation; however they worked on war footing and restored all essential services. He said that there has been acute shortage of potable water and presently water is being supplied through tankers, besides internal resource mobilization with assistance from the district administration. The water supply scheme is being restored by the concerned agencies. Vice Chancellor has thanked all stakeholders including district administration for their cooperation in restoration of all essential services and also appreciated the University staff and students for showing their concern to the affected people of the State.
