Ive been feeding birds a long time and found the biggest frustration with wreaths and ornaments hung with a rope tie through the top, is that the birds pick at the top and it all falls off the tree. My own design makes it last on the tree till the end. The twist tie also makes it easier for my older friends to just loop over a branch and twist to secure, then remove later when the birds have finished up. Ive also found that the birds love to pull out the ribbons and use them for nesting material in the Spring. Hang it in the tree so the birds can perch on branches to reach easily.
