BREAKING NEWS: School Superintendent Ron Herron Resigns At Special Meeting Held On August 14: August 12, 2013 Marcellus Community Schools Board of Education 305 W. Arbor Marcellus, MI 49067 Dear President Henry and Members, After considerable deliberation, I am hereby providing you with notice of my resignation as Superintendent of Marcellus Community Schools effective August 30, 2013. I have accepted a position at Portage Public Schools. First, and most importantly, I would like to thank the Marcellus Board of Education for the opportunity and privilege of serving the students, staff, and community of this outstanding school district. The accomplishments that we have achieved during my tenure would not have been possible without the team effort and consistent support of the school board members, staff, parents/guardians, and the community at large. I regret that my departure is at a time of uncertainty in Michigan public education, however I am confident in this board, the skills of the current staff and their ability to lead the district in achieving continued academic excellence during this period of transition. I will assist in making the upcoming transition as seamless as possible. Once again, it has been a privilege and an honor to serve the students of this great community.
