Back in Hanoi for the night & were nicely/excitedly invited to join a a Flemish/Italian couple who have been living in the city for 2 yrs @ their fav dinner spot. They assured us many Vietnamese eat there as well as expats. Walked 20 mins past countless street side dining spot thinking it must be really great since we are by passing so any perfect looking spots. Arrive at restaurant & it is not what we were anticipating. Much nicer & filled w expats and tourists. We rolled w it but the boys did not. They were total downers the entire time. Even w endless cajoling we couldnt turn their spirits. They thought food sucked (it wasnt as good as you can get in Seattle ID) & they just wanted to leave. I finally left w them while Thanny stayed. When we got back to hotel Coop & I got street food and now boys are back out getting more on their own. They just walked in w skewers of pork, much happier and began telling me about some nice people while they met while waiting for it to grill.
