Back in the 1960s/70s when I was in the Navy, we got things called Care Packages, not heard of this in many years, they were big item to all service men and women, a little touch from home, I got one in bootcamp, I was very popular for a short time, but others got ones also, this is a thing that will make a service members life perk up, especially when their 1000s of miles from home and family..Last week a Preacher friend Rick Hagans, talked about his son, being in US Coast Guard stationed in Alaska, talked about sending him things like this for his holiday season, he wont probably be coming home, it would brighten up his days and the time away from home, Seamen Elliot Hagans we salute you, serve your country well, God bless you Son, Stand proud..but folks like Elliot are everywhere, not getting to come home during what is supposed to be family times together, so anything from home will lighten his load..well, got woke up about 3 AM Friday night, why aint other folks still doing this..maybe they are and I just havent heard of it like it was back several years ago, got this burden put on me to say something at church today, since the holiday season is closing in quickly, but I hugged the bench and kept my mouth shut, thats whats wrong with things like this, everybody depends on other folks, well I aint got nobody in the military..hogwash, you live in a free country, serve your God without having to hide in a tunnel or cave, its because of these folks you have the freedom to worship whenever and wherever you want...for now..if we stand quietly by its coming, and I dread it for my children and grandchildren..anyway, if you know Anybody in the military, box up some goodies, send it to them, make their holidays a little brighter!!
