Back in the 1970s, my dad met an artist in Clinton, MO named Ike Parker. Dad collected several of Ikes watercolors for both our home and for the HST Visitor Center in Warsaw. Ike painted several landscape subjects or local attractions that would eventually be inundated by Truman Reservoir. Dad passed away in 1988, and Cecilia and I inherited one of Ikes paintings that Dad had purchased. The painting is of the Shiloh Brush Arbor in rural Benton County. Cecilia Gutierrez Elmore and I happened to accidentally drive by the arbor last Saturday and we took some photos. Heres a link to a little story about Shiloh. Ill add that Ike died in 1995 and the Arbor was rebuilt in 2005 (thats why the current photos dont look like the painting which hangs in our Rolla home today). missourilife/travel/shiloh-tabernacle/
