Back in the room after the angiogram. Heres what they found. On the backside of my heart, a smaller artery branches and descends from a major artery. Just below this branch, the smaller artery forks. Both of these forks are about 80% blocked. Further down on the descending small artery is another fork with both of these branches also blocked at about 80%. Docs main concern is upper fork, he doesnt want to try a balloon or stent because he is afraid he will disturb plague in the other branch causing a sudden blockage in the major artery resulting in an unplanned open heart surgery. Plan is to treat blockage with medication and monitor. Surgical intervention will be the last option.
