Back in the wee ‘70s… I use to tag along with Howard Martin - TopicsExpress

Back in the wee ‘70s… I use to tag along with Howard Martin and Steve Basset, and a few other Atlantic Christian College musicians and notables, usually with a guitar in-tow. They introduced me to Pete and Jeanie Shue, in Richmond (another story). Meanwhile, 45 years later, Howard has moved his act to California where he is the lead pitchman for a personal-wellbeing (self-help) science called Heart Math. It is a real catchy concept that you’ve got to love. I can see how many corporations and organizations could benefit from the tightly-crafted, concise terminology and well-defined disciplines that Heart Math is built on. Philosophically it is beautiful, if not a little utopian in premise. Like every worthy form of modern salvation, Heart math comes wrapped in the latest packaging that science can offer… complete with a heart-monitoring app and a course on how to read and interpret your heart rhythms… so that you can stay “heart-coherent” all though-out the day. In this interview, Howard explains a little about the M-wave algorithm, and the small electronic heart-rate monitoring/analyzing device… all very intriguing. But Howard’s impeccable understanding of his subject… and his self-style southern-sage demeanor is charming, deep and interesting… but his product, like he says: is “not for everybody…”. but maybe it’s just the thing for you.
