Baraje PDP relocates to Adamawa gov’s lodge The new Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) yesterday relocated its national headquarters to Adamawa state lodge, Asokoro Abuja. The faction’s initial national headquarters was sealed by the police last week. Announcing the relocation in a statement in Abuja, new PDP National Secretary, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, said they were not ready to confront security agencies laying siege to their original headquarters and promised to keep pusruing the case in court. He said: “Temporarily, the party would commence entertaining solidarity visits and granting audience to its teeming members and associates at the Adamawa State Governors Lodge situated at No. 2, Gurara Street, Maitama, Abuja. “The Baraje-led PDP would not be provoked or deterred by actions detrimental to its existence, including the unlawful occupation of its national headquarters by security agencies that have prevented the Baraje-led PDP from moving into its offices located in Maitama District, Abuja. “The Baraje-led PDP, in accordance with its belief in justice, fair play and the rule of law, had in pursuit of remedies, approached the courts that directed both the Baraje and Bamanga Tukur factions to maintain the status quo. The pronouncement of Hon. Justice Elias Chukwu on the matter was very clear, unambiguous and simple enough to avoid unnecessary rigmarole and arrogant display of power.” In a related development , the faction’s national publicity secretary, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, advised President Goodluck Jonathan not to be deceived he could win the polls without them. He said: “Mr. President should not be deceived by some party leaders who are making him believe that he can do without us. It is obvious that no presidential election in Nigeria can be won without states like Rivers, Kano, Sokoto, Adamawa, Kwara, Niger and Kebbi, and these are states we are controlling.
