Barbara gave me the number 8. (Eight things no one knows about me.) 1. The first house I ever lived in was a log cabin. 2. I was a Drummerette in 4th and 5th grades. 3. My favorite doll was named Nancianne. 4. My 5th great-grandfather was Cherokee Chief Dragging Canoe. 5. I won a National Junior Scholastic writing contest at age 13. 6. Rush Limbaugh and President Herbert Hoover are distant cousins of mine. 7. I played a Lady of the Court in our 4th grade Sleeping Beauty but got stage fright when I had to step to front stage with the other Ladies and sing. I decided to mouth the words because I was to scared to sing. Unfortunately, so did the other 5 Ladies so we all stood up there miming in silence while the piano player played a solo. 8. I played the lead in first grade, being the Great North Wind (no remarks please) and tossed colored paper scraps (leaves) onto Baby Bear. Teacher told us to pick up the paper scraps to use in the next performance but I stamped my foot and told her I didnt have to. I was the STAR! She let the other kids go out for recess while I had to stay inside and pick up every piece, all by myself. End of my show business career and a lesson in humbleness.
