If anyone is looking for some socially conscious events (think rallies, speakers, screenings, discussions etc) check out these two rad sites:: Indybay | indybay.org/calendar/ -"a non-commercial, democratic collective of bay area independent media makers and media outlets, and serves as the local organizing unit of the global Indymedia network." & has a pretty solid calendar of events from broad scope of organizations & topics [and] Bay Area Public School | thepublicschool.org/ - "is a framework that supports autodidactic activities, operating under the assumption that everything is in everything." & seems to be a great hub for the generation of critical thought & action. the public school, which clearly defines itself as not being associated w institutional schooling systems, also has locations in la & nyc for all my non-bay folks :) & of course, anyone feel free to hit me up if you want someone to explore a topic with!! ∞ &
