Because of Your Donations!!!! Here is a recent example of one of the things we were able to do as a direct result of the donations that we receive at My Island Thrift Store. We got a phone call about an elderly Merritt Island couple, John and Henrietta they are both in their 90s. A young man named Tyler was riding his bike by their house and noticed a MASSIVE swarm of bees living in a hole in the back wall of their home. He and his mom spoke to John and Henrietta and it turns out they have had the bee infestation for almost 7 years severely limiting the use of their home and had no way to solve the problem. We got the call at My Island Thrift and decided to help John and Henrietta. We contacted Island Pest Specialists, Inc and she (Jamie) said that the problem was so big that we need a Bee Keeper. We hired CL Best Honey Bees (Cliff). Cliff came out and dug into their concrete block wall removing Huge chunks of honeycomb and literally dozens of handfuls of Bees until he found the Queen. (barehanded, really) It took about 3 days to successfully remove the entire colony from their home. Once removed Our Wonderful Friend Rob Donovan at Total Home Contractors donated the concrete block repair!!!!! Now, John and Henrietta are living in their home Bee Free, Thanks to your donations at My Island Thrift , Amiah and Tyler Lawson and Rob Donovan with Total Home Contractors!
