Been doing some in-person comparison shopping at the discount - TopicsExpress

Been doing some in-person comparison shopping at the discount grocery stores in our area for dog chicken, and today tried the Sav-A-Lot in Southfield. Its closer and an easier drive than the Aldi in Clawson, but also a lot more expensive. I was quite surprised. The chicken leg quarters that I buy at Aldi for .79 were $1.19, and an off-brand instead of the Tyson that Aldi carries. The store, however, was much larger and carried more products, and the parking lot was easier to navigate. Its real appeal turned out to be that they carry the shrimp cup-o-noodles that I love and have had trouble finding recently, but Ill only stop in if Im going past from now on. I dont buy much else at these stores since my FIL and I do couponing and find good deals on name brand products at bigger stores. Though most store brands are fine, I have found that the ones at discount stores such as Aldi and Sav-A-Lot leave a lot to be desired.
