Before I start this post I should say I do love my country, but really what for, why is America so full of itself? Why do we hold so much pride for things that really dont matter. We beat our chests for the littlest things, we tell everyone how great we are. Our country and system is as messed up if not more than some war torn countries. We look at each other with disdain. Its also funny how Europeans like our president more than Americans do. We criticize the president for trying to do something about our health care (our countries health care is one of the biggest problems and should be looked at as a scam). Our great country bankrupts its citizens over necessary needs like healthcare and education. So many are close minded and cruel towards others. We say we are the land of the free but its such rubbish. Outdated laws kept in place by corrupt politicians. Still nothing is done about our gun violence which just keeps getting worse. It doesnt feel good knowing that Europeans laugh at us over our gun hungry society. Racism does not seem to be at an end. We have different societys for the wealthy and the poor, a lot of the food that is developed and manufactured in America should be changed, etc. A lot of things lately have made me feel sad about being an American. We are not the greatest country, but we could be. (This post was written after consuming copious amounts of red wine)
