Before his death in June, Dr. Arnold Relman, former editor of The New England Journal of Medicine, sent in this review of ‘The American Health Care Paradox: Why Spending More Is Getting Us Less’ by Elizabeth H. Bradley and Lauren A. Taylor. In it Relman argues that the system for payment and organization of medical care must be reformed, and that “without such change, the future of the American health system is bleak.”
