Before the smoke settles and I finish this bushwacker I want to share that if I had seen Wayne last week he wouldnt have known me. We didnt hang out. We didnt play shows together. My only real connection with him besides playing across town from him and everyone choosing to go to his show was just as awesome. Back when I was just a DJ at a bar we all remember at the old Maters building in Sardis called the On Road about 8 or so years ago they came in there and did a show. Me , never having played harmonica with anything other than a karaoke track was able to hang around after the show. We all camped out in this booth and jammed some acoustic stuff and they were the first actual band I ever played with. After those guys liked my chops I developed enough confidence to actually play in front of people. Which led to A Fifth Later(my first band). Making me the annoyingly entertaining asshole that I am today. This isnt something Ive waited to tell until now. Ive always liked this story. I just wanted to share the reason I keep inviting yous guys to see us play. You could meet someone that changes your life. For the better or the worse. Whether they remember who you are or not. You end up family. Im going to do something else now.
