Being ever curious what the justification was to ban soldiers from carrying guns on military bases, I felt compelled to research. I am aware of when and which President created this ban, but my question was why?. Was there something involved I hadnt considered? After researching...nope, nothing more than this naive belief that a gun-free zone creates a safer environment. In this case, we train them and trust them to carry to protect us, but dont trust them to carry, to protect themselves. Not saying all should carry guns...but a few scattered MPs clearly is inadequate coverage. If the bad guys knew guns were carried by 50% of the trained professionals on base, it is my belief that these would become far less the attractive targets theyve become.
