I am not even a fan of Mbabazi (I got my reasons) but to do this media trashing seems a bit childish. ------------------------------ The leader of the NRM youth league for Manafwa District, Mr Kefa Mafumo, is over the moon after he was among the select few politicians who seconded the motion that amended the party’s constitution. If a conversation overhead between him and his friends at Africana Hotel midweek is anything to go by, this was a dream come true for him. “It’s on record now that I am one of those who placed the last nail in Amama Mbabazi’s coffin,” he was heard boasting to friends. But Mr Mafumo’s demeanor changed when a friend warned him: “If Amama sues, you might be a respondent and take personal responsibility.” The ruling NRM party’s National Conference, on 15th december adopted and approved a raft of constitutional amendments that substantially change its character and sets the pace for the country’s future political direction. The amendments mean that the party will no longer have an elected secretary general, deputy secretary general, national treasurer and deputy national treasurer.
