Believers Council Congratulates Chief Ighoyota Amori @ 62 Believers Council has congratulated a political general, former Super Commissioner for Education and Senior Political Adviser to the of Delta State His Excellency Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan CON, Odidimaidi of Africa on the occasion of his 62nd birthday today 8th August, 2014. As a vibrant public affairs analyst, you ventured into politics early in 1987, when you contested and won election as a Councilor and was later appointed a Supervisory Councilor for Education in Ethiope Local Government Area in the defunct Bendel State from 1984-1989. A sagacious politician of repute, you are well-respected for your political tolerance and perseverance ; you have come a long way to achieve a reputation that has made you a celebrity. A grassroots politician, Chief Amori served as Secretary, National Republican Convention (NRC), Ethiope Local Government Area, 1990-1992, State Secretary, Grassroots Democratic Movement (GDM) 1996- 1998, Deputy Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Delta State and Senatorial Candidate, PDP, Delta Central in the last elections. As a member of the Delta State Executive Council, you held different portfolios where you distinguished yourself in the Education and Water Resources ministries. Under your watch sir, the then Ibori administration initiated the renovation and fencing of primary school projects and embarked on mass recruitment of secondary school teachers in the State. You also created an enabling environment for the establishment of Model Schools and also guided the State towards the introduction of Information and Communication (ICT) by providing computers in schools. Under your guidance, the various campuses of the Delta State University, Abraka, equally witnessed increased development. In addition, the visionary leadership of Chief Amori also gave rise to the establishment of a French Language Centre and the founding of (3) three Polytechnics at Ogwashi-Uku, Ozoro, Otefe-Oghara and a College of Science and Physical Education at Mosogar. In recognition of your contributions to the development of Education in Delta State, you were recently conferred Fellowship of the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku during the maiden Convocation ceremony of the Polytechnic. An ardent loyalist, you stood visibly and firmly by the Ibori administration as one of its most committed and fearless advocates, supporter and promoter during and after the tenure of your mentor. It is also worthy of note that at the 2007 and 2011 elections, Chief Amori was also a key factor in the success and sustenance of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) government under the leadership of the indefatigable Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan. Such was the commitment of Chief Amori to the general welfare and success of the PDP in the State that during the last elections, he concentrated more on the Governorship contest, though he was a Senatorial candidate at the polls. In so doing, this hardworking political strategist and Deputy Chairman of the PDP in the State did not mind sacrificing his chances in order to stabilize the political environment for the eventual emergence of the PDP at the polls and for larger interest of peace in the State. As a political motivator and activist, Deltans cannot forget in a hurry the formation of such political associations like The Core Group and the Urhobo Political Forum (UPF). It is to the credit of his innovative mind that other political groups in the State was created as a follow-up to the UPF design. Aside from his political contributions to the lively and peaceful coexistence of all Nigerians, High Chief Ighoyota Amori is a philanthropist and friendly leader and indeed a man of the people, accessible to all groups no matter the tribe, tongue, and political persuasion. A trustworthy and dedicated Christian who abhors rocking the boat, High Chief Amori is a sports enthusiast, a political motivator and bridge-builder. We join your family, and political associates in thanking God for making you see this day. Happy birthday Odidimaidi and many more glorious years ahead. Signed: Comrade Reuben R.Y.
